Update for the last week of March 2012

This past week, Brent and I have been house-sitting for Lisa while she's in Ohio for Jed's graduation. Let me just say, having one's own house is awesome. I mean...it's just so nice! Brent and I don't have to walk quietly, I can exercise to work out videos (or in this case, Wii's "Just Dance Kids") and Brent and I had an entire 3 minute conversation where all we did was speak extra loud. It was the best!

Anyway, the week hasn't been too eventful except for me having a panic attack for no obvious reason. My arms were completely numb, I had tightness in my chest, and I was a shaking mess. Brent prayed me through it, and then called the paramedics after I calmed down just to make sure I was ok, and I was. But the whole ordeal lasted a good thirty minutes, with fifteen of those minutes consisting of constant, uncontrollable shaking. Needless to say, I was pretty tired by the end of it. The paramedics told me that panic attacks mimic heart attacks which explains all of my symptoms. But other than some occasional headaches, all is well now on the health homefront.

(Side note: Brent just told me it's raining again. In Twin, it's currently rainy and 43. In Tulsa, it's 81 and partly cloudy. Soon...so very soon.)

I get to register for my classes at NSU on Monday - can't wait! Seriously, it will be such a relief to know that I'm enrolled in the classes I want...and to know that financial aid is on its way! I'll probably be logged in at midnight, ready to go.

Things for our apartment are still good to go, and as far as we know as of right now, Brent's job can be transferred easily enough. The only thing that's changed in terms of our move is that my parents probably won't be able to make it down there with us. Which is a bummer, but also good in that Brent and I really are starting this new season together. So it'll be fun! But now the furniture question: should it stay or should it go?

Well...both.

We'll be renting a van - a fifteen passenger one but missing thirteen seats - so that we can tow my Malibu down and bring with us as much as we can. The rest of our stuff is going to family and St. Vincent's.

Furniture-wise, the most important thing for us to bring is our bed, and probably our desk - which is currently in Brent's old room. We'll have to buy new furniture down in Tulsa, but I'm cool with it. The truth is, I'm kind of excited for NEW. It doesn't have to be brand new, but it'll be new to me. And I'm excited about that! New city, new school, new apartment, new...furniture? Sounds ok to me!

Anyway, I know none of this is very exciting for anyone but me. But as I've said before, I want to remain in the habit of posting at least once a week. For now, I think I'm going to do some creative writing. Happy Monday!

LAPTOP!!!

WE GOT A NEW LAPTOP!!!

We have my amazing mother-in-law to thank for it, as she got Brent and I both our Christmas and birthday 2012 gifts all in one, haha!

It's left me feeling excited, relieved, and...overwhelmed! No joke. I've lived so long with a crappy computer that I almost don't know how to use this one. I ifnally began downloading wedding pictures, so that was good. I've been wanting to do that forever so that I could order prints, but never could because our laptop (our now "old" laptop) couldn't handle the pressure. But like I said, I feel like I have no idea what to do with this baby! I feel like my blogging can take on a whole new life, and that's exciting...but I just don't know where to begin, haha! Oh, and I would like to just throw a quick shout out to Kera Butler, who allowed me usage of that old laptop in the first place - it still works, and it was a huge blessing...so thank you!

Well, that's it for the moment. As I've said before, more exciting things to come as we get closer to the big move!

15 Weeks!

Today is Friday March 16th, 2012.

Fifteen weeks from today, Brent and I are leaving Twin Falls, Idaho to move to Tulsa, Oklahoma.

There is so much to do, and I know it'll all get done. It just feels surreal. Brent and I were talking today about how we can't believe that in three months we won't be talking about moving anymore - we'll BE there! I guess in a way it's like awaiting our wedding day. Six months before we got married, we talked about it all the time and we knew it would happen, but it just seemed so far away. And then all of a sudden, we were walking down the aisle! I guess I can look at it like wedding prep in a way. Especially because 3 months prior to the wedding date is when we actually started paying for stuff and reserving and ordering and all that jazz - it went by so fast, so I know this will too.

Today, I spoke with the manager of the apartments we'll be living in in Tulsa and she told us what we'd need to move in, so that was good. She told me to call in May and she could tell us our actual unit number and address, so that's crazy exciting!

I'm all accepted at NSU, and I can enroll on April 2nd for classes. I'm just waiting to chat with my advisor about what classes I should enroll in. I think I already know which ones I want to take, but I don't know which of my CSI classes transferred and which didn't, so I want to wait until I know if I need to retake anything yet. Also, I'm a bit torn between whether I want to major in straight-up English or if I want to major in English Teaching. Like everything else...it'll all come together!

Brent got a raise at Fred Meyer, so that's a HUGE blessing. We just hope his raise transfers with us, haha! He's very excited to move (I think because that means I'll stop talking about it, haha!) and is excited for Bible school. We're both very excited about our new apartment - especially me because I can't wait to DECORATE!

That's about it for now. Nothing too new, but I want to stay in the habit of blogging here at least once a week. I'm sure it'll be a lot more interesting once we move!

Last Idaho Birthday

Yesterday was my (Brittany's) 24th birthday, and it was a great one! It was my last birthday that I'll be celebrating in Idaho, at least for the next two years. I've been celebrating my birthdays in the Gem State since my 8th - that's seventeen birthdays! It'll be weird to celebrate my nig 1st quarterly one in a different state with different people, but I look forward to the newness all the same.

My started with a very, very, VERY high-calorie breakfast at Starbucks. Seriously...that's chocolate bread I'm eating. Chocolate bread.

Then, to work off at least a few of those calories before I headed to work for the day, Brent and I took a nice, long walk around the block.

After work, Brent and I met my mom, siblings, and mother-in-law at Outback Steakhouse - yum! My dad couldn't be there as he is currently rebuilding a kitchen in a Florida home...on the beach...in 80 degree weather. Hehe...anywho, I was blessed with some awesome gifts! I love my people, and this was the best birthday ever! (And no, I'm not exagerating...they just keep getting better as I get older!)

Notice my primary color scheme? Blue purse, red wallet, yellow phone cover...love it!

Four More Months! (and this past week...)

Well, March is here. Time for my birthday, Kera's birthday, and the beginning of spring!! (Hopefully...) It also marks the point in which we have only four more months in Twin Falls, Idaho.

FOUR MONTHS!

It's crazy. We leave Twin on June 29th. I almost can't believe it. It's real because we talk about it so much, but when I stop and think...it doesn't even seem possible. Not physically possible, but just...possible. Like, "Oh my goodness, oh my gosh...we are actually moving to another state and are actually going to Bible school and we won't be in the same town as our parents are and..."

It's just strange. I'm sure it will be even more strange on the morning of June 29th, when we just...drive away. I'll probably cry. Like...ball-my-eyes-out cry.

But on the flip side, we could not be more excited to move to Tulsa. We're still on the fence in regards to a couple of decisions (actually it's just one, but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it), but one thing we know for sure: Tulsa is where God is leading us to go. I just can't wait to get on the road.

Oh, I guess we do know one other thing though...we got approved for the apartment we wanted! We applied in the morning, and we were approved that evening! We're guaranteed a 1-bedroom, 1 bath apartment for a move-in date of July 2nd. Hooray! We'll be living at the Greens of Bedford (sounds so British!) and the best part? There's a washer and dryer IN the unit. Not hook-ups...the real deal, already there. Praise the Lord, everyone! Praise. The. Lord.
Here's our floorplan!

And just for fun, this road is in Oklahoma. WE MUST FIND IT!
On another note, it's a beautiful day today. Like, 60 degrees beautiful. Springtime, please stay! After church today, Brent and I went for a walk. My flip-flop broke and I had to walk the whole way back from the park to my mother-in-law, Lisa's house barefoot (which isn't very far at all actually...) so that was fun. My hair is also long enough now to braid into pigtails...YAY!

Brent and I on our way to Lisa's house today...with the windows rolled down! (March 4th, 2012)

My braids! So that's one goal down; now just to fit into last summer's shorts, hehe... (March 4th, 2012)
And finally, Brent shaved off his awesome, manly facial hair so that he could take part in what's known around these parts (Twin Falls, Idaho) as "Mustache March." The idea is to shave off all facial hair the day before March 1st (so this year, that day was on February 29th) and see which dude can grow the best mustache by the March 31st. Boys and their fun. (No-Shave November is the same idea, but you just don't shave at all and see who can grow the best beard. I know ladies who participate in this event as well. No joke.) Anyway, here's the before and after:
February 27th, 2012...Brent had a beautiful, manly beard on the way to the animal shelter. That was our date for the day; we walked the dogs and even got filmed doing so for the 6 o'clock news! (I love facial hair, by the way. I know some ladies don't...but I love my bearded man!)

*sigh* And on February 28th, 2012 (I lied...he did it 2 days before March 1st. I think that's cheating...maybe?)
He's still a babe...he's just a very young-looking babe. Haha!

Skype!

Today, Brent and I joined the rest of the social netowrking world today and got our very own Skype account!

We've sent requests to a few people, and searched for others but were unsuccessful. (Apparently, a lot of people have the same name, live in the United States, and don't have profile pictures.) Our Skype name (for lack of a better term...we're still learning the ropes) is BrentBrittanyB. We can also be searched using Brent and Brittany Butler. (I think...again, still learning.) Unfortunately, at this time we do not have a webcam so we can't really use Skype right now. But we plan to get new laptops when we move this June, and then we'll have to make Skype dates with everyone!

Anyway, just wanted everyone to know. Have a happy weekend!
