A bit o' everything...

First up, one night when Brent got home from work, I told him we were going to go on a surprise date. I kind of had him convinced it was to a haunted house, but he was pleasantly surprised to find that we wound up at the dollar theater to see the newest Batman movie, which we hadn't seen yet. It was a pretty shady theater, not going to lie, but hey...it cost us $4 so we'll take it.

Another desktop change! We love Tom Hanks in this household.
My friend Ally and I Skyped. I love having coffee dates with my girlfriends over Skype. It's almost like we're just sitting across from each other at Starbucks! We've also recently Skyped with Jed & Kera, as well as Jim, Courtney, TJ (the cellist at our wedding who played the brilliant rendition of the Imperial March... ;) and my parents! We love Skype, so if anyone has Skype and ever wants to Skype with us, our name is "brentbrittanyb," just so you know!

Also, before Skyping with Courtney, Brent said I looked like a Who from Whoville...

Last Sunday night, I rode up on the bus to Rhema's Oklahoma City Campus to help volunteer. I help with some audio/video stuff. It was the OKC campus' first year anniversary, so they had a big dinner thing. It was fun!

Homework and coffee on the bus!
My adorable bus seat mate!

BUS!!!

The OKC campus.

This was just dessert. The actual food was in another room. Seriously...this entire table...only sweets.

Set up!

Mmm...pumpkin cheesecake and Italian!

Soundboard!

I made some pumpkin brownies with chocolate marshmallow frosting. They were decent, but not the best. Better luck next time, self!

I called my Great Grandpa Charles and my Grandpa Larry last night. I had a great time catching up with them both. They're pretty much the most adorable things ever. Here are the texts I sent my mom afterwards.

And just a bit o' everything else...

Mancala!!!

I made ground beef enchiladas one night! Hooray for left overs!

My passport photo, taken when I was 17. Oh...my...word. Praise the Lord I can get a new one thanks to my name change! Just...wow. Haha!
Oklahoma skies!

Finally, Brent and I had a little outing the other night because for the month of November, we're challenging ourselves to not spend any money other than bills. We're calling it No-Spend November! Anyway, we went to this restaurant that everyone talks about called Cheddar's, which looks really fancy and has excellent food, but is soooo well-priced! It was super tasty. Definitely a new favorite. (Not that we'll be returning anytime soon...) Here's just a little something from our trip there.

P.S.
Now, everyone can leave comments on the posts! I know a few people had wanted to, but couldn't because my settings were on the wrong thing. So now if anyone would like to leave a direct comment on the blog post, you can! YAY!!!

Fall & Friends

One Sunday afternoon, after church, we went over to a friend's house for a BBQ with a few other couples, so that was fun! They lived out in the country and we got a bit lost at first, however if we hadn't have gotten lost, we wouldn't have found this awesome turkey crossing sign...

Last weekend, our church's young marrieds group got together at a pumpkin patch and went to Starbucks afterwards. It was also really fun, and we had a great time chatting and getting to know each other! One of our friends (the guy whose house we went to for the BBQ) is also a photographer and took some free portraits!

Leaves are falling! And it's finally getting cold here. Like...COLD. It reminds us of Idaho!

YAY!!!

More Christmas lights are going up on campus every day!

Brent's 24th Birthday

Brent's 24th birthday was the 13th of October, so we celebrated with Star Trek Scene It, Mario Kart, and food! Traditionally, Brent's birthday meal consists of using a fondue pot to fry pieces of steak. We didn't have steak, but we had chicken! So we fried chicken, using a flour mix, and I also made my own honey mustard sauce which was delicious! (It's also still in the fridge. I hope it's still good...) Then our apartment smelled like hot oil for several hours, and we played more Mario Kart. It was a fun day, and I can't believe that next year marks both of us reaching a quarter of a century! Crazy.

Birthday lunch!!!
Star Trek Scene It time! We probably would have played Metallica Monopoly too, if we hadn't left it behind...

Gettin' ready for Mario Kart!

I won!!! (Brent won all the other times.... ;)

A couple days after his birthday, I decorated for fall and made Brent a birthday cake since he didn't have one for his actual birthday! I also made a macaroni & cheese casserole thing. It was delish!

MOM?!!! (Seen at Walmart, buying fall decor and the stuff for Brent's cake!)
We change our desktop background a lot...this was Brent's surprise. I really do give the best gifts...
Also, on my way to pick up Brent from work the night that I made the mac & cheese thing, they were practicing for the Rhema Christmas lights. It doesn't look like much here, but there are SO many Christmas lights all over campus! The Rhema Christmas lights is a Christmas-must here it seems. Everyone - EVERYONE - goes. It's apparently a tradition. We live right across the street, so we're excited! Also...I can upload videos again! The blog video uploader wasn't working for the longest time, so now I'm excited I can start posting videos again!

First Anniversary

WE MADE IT!!!!

I can't believe that a year has already come and gone. Sometimes it seems like we've only been married a month, and other times it's like we've been together for years! I'm so thankful for my husband, and have been so blessed by his presence in my life, especially over the past three years. Words can't express how much I love him, and how much he means to me! One year of friendship, one year of dating, and one year of marriage. There are so many more years to come, and so many more adventures to be had together. I look forward to each and every one!

Brent, it's truly a blessing, joy and an honor to have you as my husband, best friend, the future father of our future children, and as the head of our home! I love you Brent, with my whole heart for my whole life!

"I have found the one whom my soul loves." - Song of Solomon 3:4
Being newly-relocated newlyweds obviously means we didn't have tons of money to spend on a fancy outing for celebrating, and we knew we didn't have to spend money to have fun and celebrate one another. Still, we were thankful and blessed to have received a lovely care package from my family containing some food, miscellaneous necessities, and a gift card to The Cheesecake Factory - which is where Brent and I had decided we wanted to go, about a month prior, for our special night!

Getting ready! (Also...I'm sorry...but sometimes I make duck faces without meaning to. ;)

It was raining, so we took our cute little umbrella with us!

Awww, feel the love! ;)

Black & White...obviously.
Car pictures!

Bein' all serious...

FOOD IS INSIDE!!!

I don't think Cheesecake Factory is really considered a fancy restaurant, but we sure felt like we were at one!

FOOOOOOOOOOD!!!!

We decided to go all out and order an appetizer - cream cheese & crab wontons! (Hey, we had a gift card!)

I had a delicious pork chop, with excellent mashed potatoes and some of the best green beans EVER.

Brent had perfect orange chicken and rice!

My favorite dessert is tiramisu, so I had to try it cheesecake-style!

Brent had cookie dough cheesecake!

Coffee with out dessert. Brent's a coffee drinker now (praise the Lord!), but he's still acquiring the taste. I'm sure you can guess which one is his. ;)
Brent and I had a great time just relaxing, and talking to each other about each other. It's been a bit difficult to have a regular date night since moving because of finances and such, so it was so nice to just BE together. It definitely reminded us how important it is to make time for each other. Just because we're "young, in love, and always together" doesn't mean we shouldn't set aside specific time for just the two of us to spend, continuing to get to know one another and growing together as husband and wife. Building a strong foundation now is important for both the present and the future of our marriage...and we look forward to a wonderfully blessed lifelong romance together!

"Hang my locket around your neck, wear my ring on your finger. Love is invincible facing danger and death. Passion laughs at the terrors of hell. The fire of love stops at nothing - it sweeps everything before it. Flood waters can’t drown love, torrents of rain can’t put it out. Love can’t be bought, love can’t be sold - it’s not to be found in the marketplace."
